What We Believe In


Patient centered 1:1 care: We provide 90 minute evaluations and hour-long treatment sessions, with more focus on patient care (and less on insurance documentation) We value a lifelong relationship with our patients and strive to provide compassionate pelvic health care across a lifespan with a focus on finding and treating the ROOT cause that leads to lasting relief and resilience.

Growing together:  1:1 mentorship, team clinical training, journal club, provider rounds, continuing education benefits, team events, retreats and outings, and a leadership team who cares about each team member’s career goals and success is all included.

Collaboration: We work closely and alongside like minded complementary providers within our space including; perinatal mental health therapists, midwives, personal trainers and reiki practitioners. We also provide pelvic health therapy within a midwifery birth center in Bath, ME. 

Supporting each other: Providers meet regularly as a group to discuss complex cases and communicate and share ideas about patient care. We believe we are better together and we are so lucky to learn with and from each other. Yoga & Movement Instructors in Scarborough, Maine

Root To Rise Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health is a Scarborough, Maine–based wellness clinic offering prenatal and vinyasa yoga classes alongside pelvic health physical therapy. We’re growing with intention and seeking yoga and movement instructors who are passionate about supporting people through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

Our yoga classes in Scarborough emphasize thoughtful cueing, breathwork, functional movement, and collaboration with pelvic health physical therapists to create a supportive, inclusive experience.

We’re seeking instructors who:

Requirements:

  • 200-hour yoga teacher training certification (required)

  • At least 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prenatal instructors: prenatal yoga certification or significant experience teaching prenatal populations

  • Vinyasa instructors: 200-hour training (or higher) with teaching experience

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist (PT/OT) – Scarborough, Maine

Root To Rise Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health is seeking a compassionate and motivatedPelvic Floor Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist to join our growing, cash-based practice serving Scarborough, Maine.

This is a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, one-on-one pelvic health care in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting focused on patient-centered healing and long-term outcomes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist with experience or a strong interest in pelvic health and a desire to grow within a supportive, team-oriented practice.

Whether you are experienced in pelvic health or a new graduate looking for mentorship, this role offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills while working in a low-volume, high-quality care model.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pelvic floor evaluations and treatments, including internal and external assessment as appropriate

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pelvic health and orthopedic conditions

  • Provide one-on-one, 55-minute treatment sessions

  • Educate patients on anatomy, movement, and self-management strategies

  • Maintain timely and compliant documentation in accordance with Maine practice guidelines

  • Communicate effectively with patients via in-person visits, phone, and email

  • Deliver care with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PTs, acupuncturists, and wellness providers

Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in Maine (or eligible)

  • Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills

  • Interest in pelvic health, perinatal care, and patient-centered practice

Preferred:

  • Pelvic health training (Herman & Wallace, APTA Pelvic Health, or equivalent)

  • Experience with internal pelvic floor assessment and treatment

  • Orthopedic experience

  • CPR Certification

New graduates are encouraged to apply. A structured mentorship program is provided.
