I’m a physical therapist with 16 years of experience with a specialty in pelvic health and perinatal care. I’m also a yoga teacher and a mentor.

And I LOVE this work.

With my clinical background, as well as my personal journey with postpartum recovery, I am dedicated to helping people of all ages optimize their pelvic health, discover freedom through mindful movement, and return to things they love to do!

I created Root to Rise Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health to provide you with the highest quality, fully customized care. My intention is to guide you on your unique journey towards healing. Together, we will create and execute a personalized therapeutic pathway towards YOUR specific goals.

Our treatments often include a blend of manual therapy techniques, dry needling & cupping, functional movement training, physical yoga postures, breathwork and mindfulness activities. Education is key to ensure that you fully understand your condition and treatment plan.

My team and I are committed to a whole person approach.

It is important to us that your treatment feels accessible, realistic and fits into your current life. We will be an advocate for you and collaborate with your other healthcare providers (with your permission) to facilitate a cohesive plan.

We truly believe that this work is about SELF CARE and it is NOT about fixing something that is broken or wrong with us. It’s about optimizing how we move, breathe, and feel in our bodies in all stages of our lives.

We believe in strong communication with each of our patients. This means being accessible to you by phone and email in between our sessions so that we can make the most progress in fewer visits. This means more time for you and decreased overall cost for therapy!

Empowerment and freedom through healthy movement rooted in physical therapy, occupational therapy, yoga and acupuncture.

My Story

Looking back, my interest in pelvic floor physical therapy began at a time when I was faced with navigating a complicated diagnosis alone. I was given little practical or medical advice and no path to reach my goals. I felt lost and frustrated by the care that I was given and the answers I received. It wasn’t until I found a specialized interdisciplinary clinic that I finally felt cared for in the way that I deserved. They cared about my condition, they took the time to educate me and together we created a plan.

The relief I felt, that I wasn’t alone and there were answers made a huge difference in my life.  It made me realize how hard it is to find quality information about women’s health questions in today’s world. I became motivated to provide this kind of care to my own patients and wanted to focus on this much needed and seldom talked about field. My passion and purpose were solidified when I became a mother to 2 young children. Especially following the birth of my younger child, I experienced many of the same issues as my patients and discovered first hand, the challenges that life as a new parent in postpartum recovery brings.

As a very active person, yoga teacher, and practitioner; returning to teaching and practicing as soon as I could was my goal.

Recovery from both vaginal and c-section childbirth is a complex process, and some of the issues I needed to address included diastasis recti, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, just to name a few.

I’m so very grateful for the professionals who helped me along the way. I gained an even greater sense of gratitude for how the body heals and how, with awareness, intention and commitment, we can return to a place of even greater strength, connection, and resilience. Having babies and this process of transformation has fueled my passion and solidified my purpose for my work here in the world.
